CREATE Design South West has submitted a planning application for a new boxing club on behalf of Camborne & Redruth Amateur Boxing Club, Cornwall’s longest-running boxing club.

Thanks to the Community Capacity Fund, managed by Cornwall Council’s Localism Department, this project will provide a dedicated venue for boxing events and accessible training for all ages—including low-cost opportunities for young people to improve their well-being and fitness.

This new purpose-built facility will replace an outdated structure with one that respects and harmonizes with the Grade II listed heritage buildings of this former mining site. By doing so, it preserves the area’s industrial history while supporting community engagement and sporting excellence.
