Our Road to Net Zero Carbon
Conducting our business responsibly and sustainably is high on Create’s agenda. If the planet continues to heat, the impacts on society will be catastrophic. We are committed to playing our part in saving our planet, and working alongside other companies who share our same ethos.
Create is a proud supporter of the UN backed Race to Zero Campaign. Through the SME Climate HUB, Create is working towards keeping global warming to 1.5°C, by pledging to halve emissions by 2030 and reduce emissions by 90% by 2040.
At Create we have been working hard in recent years to formulate our Net Zero Strategy and Carbon Reduction Plan. Create are partnered with Green Business Action London, a non-profit initiative that advises London based SMEs on their journey to Net Zero. Through Green Business Action, Create enrolled on the Better Futures Programme, a government initiative aimed at educating London based SME’s in reducing their carbon footprint. This has given us the know-how to develop ways to minimise our Carbon Footprint.

Working with sustainability consultants Planet A and Sustain Quality as well as Green Business Action advisors we have audited our energy consumption, established our current carbon footprint and developed a detailed plan to work out how to get to Net Zero. Download our current Carbon Reduction Plan here.
Through Climate Essentials, a software platform designed to help SMEs measure, manage, reduce, and report their carbon emissions, we have established that our emissions are already much lower than the average business. Our aim is to reduce our already low footprint by 50% by 2030 and 90% by 2040. Any remaining carbon will be offset at that stage with the use of a carbon offsetting scheme.
We have at the same time been working with clients who are keen on delivering highly sustainable buildings, thereby embedding Carbon Reduction within the operational use of our projects. We are proud to have designed the prestigious Ealing Film Studios project which will be the world’s first carbon-negative film studio. We have also been working on Oaklands Park, which will be one of the UK’s largest Passiv Haus schemes as well as a brand new state of the art Zero Carbon SEND school in Essex.
At Create we are guided by the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge, the LETI Climate Emergency Design Guide and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We are passionate about creating buildings that are beneficial to our environment.
