We operate in the UK, Europe and Malta, providing design solutions.

In a world where the impact of climate change is now a reality, sustainability lies at the heart of everything we do.  

It is not just about the places that we create, however; true sustainability starts from within and is as much about creating a fair, stimulating and ethical working environment as it is about creating sustainable environments.

Much of our strength is defined by the quality of those who work with us. We create a culture of opportunity that allows people to grow and express themselves within the practice.

Our Local Community

In addition to our role as professionals working on the national and international stage, we are also members of vibrant local communities both in London, Cornwall, Portugal and Malta. We have taken an active role in developing links with local schools, businesses, and community groups.

We have also provided pro bono advice to support local initiatives.

Sustainability

CREATE’s six principles of sustainability – Carbon, Environment, Community, Wellbeing, Connectivity and Green Economy are guided by the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge, the LETI Climate Emergency Design Guide and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Our in-house sustainability task force has a mission to deliver our net-zero carbon vision for both projects and the practice. 

This involves educating our Creators, clients and collaborators, strengthening our design process, emphasising post-occupancy evaluation, and minimising carbon within our own studios.
We work with specialist teams for carbon impact assessments, environmental analysis, materials research, landscape and workplace design, and environmental and structural engineering. 
Together with the design teams, they develop sustainable frameworks and identify environmental targets for a healthier world.

Create have worked hard in 2024 to update their Net Zero Carbon plan. Working with Planet A and partners we have developed a detailed plan to establish our current carbon footprint and work out how to get to net zero. Our proposal is to reduce our already low footprint by 50% by 2030 and 90% by 2040. Any remaining carbon will be offset at that stage with the use of carbon offsetting scheme. We have at the same time been delivering the Ealing Film Studio’s project which is the world’s first carbon negative film studio, and have been working on the planning stage of what we believe is the UK’s largest Passivehaus scheme and a zero carbon SEND school. We look forward to continuing to work for a better future next year. We've recently been appointed to remediate a 6-floor apartment building in Liverpool affected by the combustible cladding issues. We visited the site this week to conduct a site investigation using our survey drone and other equipment to map and examine the building. Like many of these projects, we found the original build quality poor. We've rapidly worked to develop the remedial design, which will soon be issued for tender. We hope that the project will commence on-site in the spring next year.
